During Dakota Johnson’s Saturday Night Live speech, she recognized that she can’t take “meets genuinely” while advancing her movies.
The actress, who will co-star with Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced, and Celeste O’Connor in the upcoming Marvel film Madame Web, realized, “I’m just not good at talking to journalists,” after conducting numerous press interviews for the film.
She jokingly stated, “I think the biggest problem is that I say things and then they write it down. I’m joking the majority of the time, so it’s unfair.”

She then showed a video of her as a child on a red carpet with her father, actor Don Johnson. She can be seen rolling her eyes in the footage.
Johnson rolls her eyes once more and laughs as the camera returns to her on the SNL stage.
Johnson described her MCU film, which will be released in theaters on February 14, as “kind of like if AI generated your boyfriend’s perfect movie.”
Later on in her monologue, the actress mentioned that the night’s musical guest was Justin Timberlake, but the singer-actor took that as a cue to take the stage.
Timberlake said, “If you want me to be in sketches — I have hosted before,” raising his hand to demonstrate that he had already hosted SNL five times as Johnson stood there with a confused expression.
“Yeah, well, that was ten years ago…. Regardless, I am ecstatic that you chose my show for your comeback,” Johnson responded.
However, the singer was unsure about the actress’s claim that it was a “comeback,” so he asked, “Is that what we’re calling it?” Johnson responded quickly, “I mean, come back in a good way.”
Timberlake stated, “I see what this is, this is where we make a joke.” Like, at first, he brought back the sexy, and now he’s bringing back the coming.”
However, Johnson noticed that she “wouldn’t state it like that,” with the vocalist adding, “Better believe it, you’re correct now that I’ve listened to that clearly.”
During Johnson’s monologue, Jimmy Fallon also made a special appearance, this time dressed as Barry Gibb. Fallon and Timberlake, who played Gibb’s younger brother Robin, brought The Barry Gibb Talk Show back for an SNL sketch later in the episode.
